My ministry is two-fold, as I serve as both a Dance Minister and Dance Leader and Instructor. The call the Lord has placed on my life is to minister to both the Body of Christ and to the lost through Interpretive and Prophetic dance. This is done for their edification, exhortation and comfort, bringing freedom and deliverance in a very unique way. I also teach, equip and train dance ministers,and worshippers alike, to more freely enter into worship, as well as providing dance ministers with the necessary tools to take their ministry to another level in excellence for the Lord as a ministry versus performance. I feel that everyone who dances for the Lord should have a firm foundation on Biblical aspects of Christian dance before ministering before His people.
This is done by providing, imparting and sharing 24 years of dance ministry experience in Biblical aspects of dance, and over 20 years leadership experience. Although it is not necessary for one to be a trained dancer to dance before the lord, I believe that as dance ministers we should want to give our very best to the Lord and hone our skills to be more effective communicators in the area of dance. Along with the foundational training, I also provide and offer classes that help dancers improve their skill level by teaching and instructing dance technique.
Some of the topics I cover as part of the instruction consist of but not limited to: What the Bible says about Dance, The Purpose for Dance in the Church, Who can Dance, and The Ways We Can Dance, which are modules included in a 6 week Course titled “ Dance in Worship”*. I also provide more in-depth instruction on The Etiquette of Dance Ministry and Garments, and Dance as a Ministry, which includes step-by-step instruction on How to start a Dance Ministry. Another facet of instruction focuses on Technique classes in the following areas: Ballet, Israeli Folk Dance (Davidic), Christian Hip-Hop, Expressive Sign Dance, the Proper Use of Pageantry Items (Props, Flags and Banners), and Worship Dance. For those who have or desire a deeper calling into the area of Dance Ministry, I also provide instruction in Interpretive Dance and Prophetic Dance. Equipping workshops range from a 1 hour session (1 class) or several sessions per day across several days, depending on the focus of content and instruction requested.
